I've been practicing Evgeni's Waltz for 2 weeks.
I'm about 3/4 fluent with it. Woo hoo! I've memorised most of it and am practicing to play it smoothly.
Here's what helped motivate me:
1. I put it on my Life List. My life list is the things to do before you die list. I wanted to play a piano piece smoothly and without music sheets so I can play it anytime, anywhere. Raptitude says 'no general things in your life list, make it specific' so I had to choose a song, and at that time I just watched W.E and the super romantic guy played it so nicely. It was powerfully heart-warming and painful at the same time, I downloaded it on mp3 and put it on replay for a few days.
2. A little push from my dad. I was practicing it and my dad randomly came and sat beside the piano. He asked if I'd memorise the whole song. I told him, I memorised half and I stopped there. He encouraged me to go on, take your time. He said it'd be good to have a piece you've heartfully memorised so I didn't stop there. I went on til I memorised the full song and am able play it almost perfect.
Even after so many replays, the song is still fascinating and I still feel that tingle.

* I do think there's one on youtube but it's superb hard to find.
